Non-expanded headers should close all other expanded headers

Hello all, my question is that if we clicked on the non-expanded header the all the previous open headers with sub-menu should close . but the problem is that if i use persist state = false then whenever i click on the sub-menu link the page refreshes and the opened header gets closed which i don't want.

I am confused. How do you come up with the persist state? Menucool Accordion Menu does not have that property. Please clarify. Also if you can stage a testing page so that I can see to it?
